International Marketing

I'm doing this blog based on an article I read on www.shoestringbranding.com. I'm now working for Datamark a higher education marketing firm. I'm the international guy and am really enjoying work. I have been given the duty to take schools international. The majority of which have never breathed beyond he borders of the US which makes for a good time! While my job title is "International Marketing Analyst" and I fall under the Business Unit Analyst group here, I actually feel like I have a brand manager role. The difference is that I'm working as a consultant. I have written up a "shell" with marketing activities that can be used throughout the world and am running some scenarios through the gauntlet that I have created for myself. I have created some diagnostics that are designed to help make decisions leading up to the Marketing campaign. We are at a little bit of a stand still for now, our client is budgeting for '09 and will have the funds to launch the campaign that I'm designing now. I'm stuck in a position of not having anymore to say until I get the clients take on what they want to do. My goal now is to uncover as much information about all the subjects as possible. Without spending any money on studies or soliciting the help from in country agencies it's proving to be harder than I thought. I'm glad for the challenge and look forward to it everyday. I hope to have this process down pat so when we go live I can send out the campaign and things will go smoothly and quickly. I'm looking to be the go to guy. I'm grateful for the experience, it's going to benefit BLO greatly!
